Stragglers rescued from ignominy by the Admiral

Having failed to post a decent score after winning the toss (a modest 175), and being dismissed for the second game in succession, disaster and defeat were staring the Stragglers firmly in the eye, when Wickham & Stodmarsh reached an effortless 60 without loss in the first 8 overs. Up stepped the spinners – Munton and Dennon Duncan – and the torrent of runs slowed to a trickle, but even then, at 100 for 6 with more than 20 overs remaining, the threat remained. But Nelson did it for the Stragglers, aided and abetted by Archie taking 4 for 0, with three falling on 111, as W&S imploded.
