Toby, bowling like the wind, took early momentum away from the TDMB XI, as the opening Bedfords, pere et fils, feathered edges to the ever eager Blair. Only Archie managed to make the most of a really good track, and even he fell to a really fine display of Straggler out fielding (and you can’t say that very often!!) as 7, 8 and 9 were run out in turn. Simon and the Master brewer then turned up the heat, with an aggressive partnership (not a good day for bowling figures). Simon fell 19 short of a century; jonathan looked certain for his, only to be denied by a thoroughly cavalier display from Jack, carving 26 in the last couple of overs, leaving Jonathan undefeated on 87.
