Chairman's Blog

Summer turned up just on time to bathe the victorious, beer swilling Stragglers in a wonderful evening glow in the Elham Valley.  Summer had been notably absent for much of the game, as the cold northerly wind blew down the valley and through the slips, while Ralph compiled a faultless maiden Straggler hundred, and most importantly put the Master Brewer on notice! Graham, Toby, Justin and Tom batted with gay abandon after the basis had been laid by Ralph and Louis. And then Toby demonstrated what wind is really all about as he bowled like a typhoon, blowing away the Elham top order.  The resulting margin was the third largest margin of victory, when batting first.
