Archie Hammond has been raised to the level of DRS for the Stragglers, as he looked down on the action from the deep cover boundary at Goodnestone, the ultimate arbiter on a number of rowdy Straggler appeals. He seemed to be able to correctly call the onward trajectory of the ball from above, only appealing to confirm the decision of the umpire, who waitied to see if Archie had appealed before raising the finger. Unfortunately for the Straggler innings, and for Simon in particular, now bearing a double grudge, Archie was not on hand to review the Master Brewer’s decision to trigger Simon. Is Jonathan making a late season charge for the awards, and eliminating the competition?
