The glorious spell of late summer weather, which had seen the hottest September day since 1911, ended 24 hours too early for the Stragglers.  A wonderful season, with only two matches called off previously, came to a disappointing end with a rain affected cancellation, leaving the Master Brewer unable to chase down the 107 runs required to pip Toby for the batting prize.  In the end Toy was well clear with 312 runs at an average of 62.40.  George BW was some way back with 258 runs at 43.00.

Topping the bowling averages is Theo with 15 wickets at 13.55, followed hard by Benny with 12 at 16.58.  Theo and Jasper were the leading outfield catchers with 6 apiece.  And wicket keepers ended with a couple of records – 26 is the most keeper dismissals in a Sraggler season; and Al equalled the personal maximum with 14 (9 catches and 5 stumpings), in very select company as one of only three, who have achieved that total.  With Blair, Al, Theo, Ed, Justin, Jasper and more, Straggler keeping has come a long way from the days, when a late arrival was handed the gloves and told to get on with it!!
