Chairman's Blog

A confident and thrusting BaBes side were eventually undone by failing to take the catches that mattered. A swift start was controlled by Paddy Butler, who induced a trio of lofted shots to deep mid-on; all three were safely gathered by Charlie Sinclair. Nigel was the living embodiment of a coaching manual with his catch after the ball had passed by; and Henry Collister reached one which was falling into space. In comparison the BaBes dropped Harry Pattinson twice, and he made them pay with a carefully and patiently crafted century, only falling with the scores tied.

Differences in athletic ability in the field tend to be most pronounced against the BaBes, as the Chairman ably demonstrated more than once failing to pick balls of his toes, while managing a very creditable impression of a croquet hoop.
