Chairman's Blog

At 70 for 5, Jasper having removed two key batsmen, the new bat launched his first ball straight back, high over the Jasper’s head. The Chairman, slightly concerned about the risk of potential engagement by Nigel at mid off, reached the ball only for it to slip between his hands and see it go to ground. Jasper then took two more with the next two – the hat trick that might have been. The batsman reprieved by the drop then took Tenterden to the edge of victory, smacking 43 and growing in confidence, when Ed Prest, recalled to clear up the tail, found a flying edge. Behind the stumps the Straggler acrobatic team, Al and Theo, took off in unison, and Theo clung on to a spectacular catch, much to the relief of the Chairman.
