Brought on in with the game still in the balance at 81 for 3, the BOFs brimming with talented batting still to arrive at the crease, Freddie used the leg spinning long-hop to lure Will Falcon into a miscued slap to mid-wicket (held by Theo) – 105 for 5. Freddie then produced two absolute gems, of which Shane Warne would be proud; with a perfectly pitched ball, spinning sharply from leg, Jasper was undone in the classic manner, playing against the spin to lob the most simple of catches to mid-off. Then came the Gatting ball, as Matt was completely undone by the spin to lose his leg bail. Finishing with 3 for 40, Freddie had felled the middle order of Smallwoods, and put the match beyond the BOFs.
