With Patch needing another partnership breaker, Heals talked himself on with the guarantee of a wicket. And he promptly produced a great piece of exhibition bowling, asking many questions that Toto Berger had never found the need previously to answer. For the older members of the crowd the fourth ball in his over brought back memories of the extraordinary Warne first ball in Ashes cricket, which so bamboozled Mike Gatting – well the similarity might have just been a hugely surprised batsman, as the ball from Mark pitched in his half of the wicket and somehow managed to be swept all the way round by Toto to knock off the bails. A master class in deceiving a batsman in anybody’s book.
